Yesterday I had the great honour of doing my first twin newborn session for tiny little Mahli and Hamish.
This session already had a special place in my heart. Both Bree (their mum) and I went to the same fertility specialist to conceive our little miracles and I felt so lucky to be able to see them so soon after their grand entrance into this big wide world!!
Newborn sessions always take a lot out of me, so I knew that a twin session would probably be a lot harder and I was right. It’s difficult enough sometimes just to get one baby to sleep, but trying to get two to sleep, and not only sleep but at the same time as one another, is a difficult task.
As we tried to position them in their sleepy state, there were elbows in eyes, toes up noses, fingers in belly buttons – yet the amazing thing was that even after they kicked, and pinched and poked one another, they seemed more calmed by the fact the other one was there than when they were apart. It was so beautiful to watch.
{Bree – ahhhhh, breathe in and breathe out. They (and you!) did a marvellous job yesterday and you should be very proud of them. I was feel very honoured to have photographed them at this point in their lives – thank you for having me over to do so}

OMG they are just beautiful!!! Bree, you must be so proud, and probably very tired… well done, Kristen, twins are special little creatures- they really feel safe when they’re close to their sibling, no doubt!
Stunning photos Kristen. They are just beautiful.
WOW! WOW! WOW! You are one talented lady! So beautiful.
Hi Kristen, Proud Twin Aunty Dani here. They are just too precious, what a wonderful job you did. I know first hand how hard it can be to get them both to sleep (I must admit i love them awake though!) Can’t wait to see them all, this has been such a long journey for Bree and i am so proud of how she has handled everything. Now its just me left but with both my brother and sister having twins i am scared! Imagine if we had another set? Mum would have heart failure i;m sure! Thanks for the shots, they are perfect! Dani
Kristen, I admit I produced gorgeous babies but your work does truely make them look spectacular! I better start saving my money for the photos!
Thankyou for spending basically the entire day patiently coaxing those two to look like they do!
You should be extremnely proud of yourself and your work.

AMAZING!! I am crying at how beautiful these two are and what a special bond you can see they already have with each other.
Bree – you are an amazing woman – I am so proud of you, and your babies are just beautiful.
I am really looking forward to coming to see you very soon. Have just wanted to give you space to settle in after what has been such a long ordeal, but so worth it.
