What love looks like | Melbourne newborn photographer

Tuesday’s child is full of grace…

{Loved beyond measure before she was even born, and welcomed into such an amazing family. Nick and Tuesday, she will be passionate, thoughtful, giving, kind and true – all because of you. And dear Willow – you have no idea how fortunate you are to be part of this tender family unit. Truly, you will grow into an amazing person and I can’t wait to witness it.}

Connected | Baby photography Melbourne

There is a quiet that comes over me when I genuinely connect with my babies.
An inner calm.
I feel grounded.
Their honesty infuses my heart.
My soul feels lighter.
I love being able to create a space for parents to connect in that quietness with their baby; the extension of their own tenderness.
I love even more when for a moment, even if for just a moment, that baby seems to connect back to them in return.

{Selima and Andrew – enjoy her, love her, appreciate her. That’s all she can ask of you}

Moments | Melbourne newborn photographer

The tender leaves on springtime trees, rough pebbles on the ground
The snowflakes drifting on the breeze that fall without a sound
Are all unique and precious, if we take the time to see
No two have been identical in all eternity.

Is this not true of people too? Be mindful, then, of each
Both strangers and those close to you have useful things to teach
The two of us part richer if we pass the time of day
And don’t just brush each other off, then hurry on our way

Preoccupied by urgent schemes of business, love or power
By gambling on our future dreams, we lose the present hour
A life is forged of moments linked together like a chain
Live each in full – for down this road we shall not pass again

- Neil Harding McAlister

{There is always something inherently beautiful to me as a newborn photographer about the breath of new life. Enjoy and treasure each and every special moment with her, Anne and Nick}

As he slept | Melbourne newborn photography

Hello, little one.
Thank you for coming to play.
I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to have spent this time with you.
You made me feel peaceful. I watched you while you slept.
The beautiful rise and fall of your chest as you took breath after breath, the quivering of your little rosebud lips as you dreamed, the amazing sense of purpose you exuded just by simply being… every single moment of being with you made me grateful.
Thank you
xx

{Take and breathe in every minute of his presence, Elleni and George. You are so lucky to have him}

Mason | Newborn baby photographer, Melbourne

This divine miracle drove three hours to get to me for his newborn photography session, and another three hours going back home again. Oh, how I adored him… there was such love in the room this day.

 His mama is a beautiful, amazing and loving woman and I am so blessed to have been chosen to photograph these precious and fleeting moments in her young baby’s life.

Seedling | Newborn photographer, Melbourne

…Hello, little seedling.
We welcome you with open arms into this beautiful world.
Grow, little seedling.
Stretch your arms up and up, and let your fingers dance and sway in the beautiful sunshine.
Breathe in this new life you have claimed.
Grow strong for tomorrow.
Love, little seedling.
Snuggle into the warmth of your family’s happiness.
They (and I) are so thankful you have come to be.

Unique blessings | Melbourne baby photographer

One thing that I truly love about being a newborn photographer is that every baby is different to the next. No session is ever the same because no newborn baby is ever the same, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Each one has a different personality, different likes and dislikes, different quirks, mannerisms and features. Getting to know these beautiful little souls when I first come to meet them is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do – they are special, they are loved and they are important. For months parents wonder what their baby will look like and who it will take after – my job is to make sure that they can remember those early moments with fondness as they are too fleeting, too sudden and too quickly forgotten.

I was lucky enough to capture the beautiful connection between this little man’s parents at his mama’s maternity session a little while ago, and was waiting so patiently for his arrival as I knew he would be a very special and loved boy indeed. He is the first little Kynan I have had the honour of meeting – and an honour it truly was.

{He is a brilliant, strong and loved soul Ruth and David}

Baby Beauty | Melbourne newborn photographer

If you saw beauty in my eyes, remember that I was looking at you
- Jesh de Rox

 It has felt like so long since I’ve had a beautiful, independent baby girl in my studio – after a good run of handsome newborn baby boys of late, I was beginning to miss my girls. Zoe is just one of the beauties I was able to photograph recently.

We met… and I fell in love.

{Jess and Mark – she is lovely, she is adored and she is special. Thank you for allowing me to into your hearts to capture baby Zoe’s beauty}

Mama love | Newborn photographer Melbourne

Oh how she loves him…

It was beautiful, special and I was proud to witness it and be a part of it. Every fibre of my being ached to try and capture even an ounce of her love for him in my images. I can only hope I did that love justice. Joseph’s mama was so relaxed with him, so bonded, I told her it felt like she had done all of this before. She agreed – it’s just like it was meant to be for these two. As a newborn photographer I felt such joy to be there and be surrounded by it.

I could have cried when his little hand reached up to touch his mama’s face. I very nearly did…
