Photo-a-day: Day 17 | Melbourne baby photography

{Photo-a-Day Project: A personal project that I undertake every January for an entire month taking one photo a day of my children.}

You may not have mastered the art of blowing dandelions into the wind like your sister, but you sure look cute when you pucker your lips and try… xx

Photo-a-day: Day 15 | Baby photography, Melbourne

The rain stopped, and the sun awoke this morning.
I watched you enjoy the peace and quiet.
Mornings are always a calm time for you, more so as you’ve grown older.
Your bed hair reminds me of soft fairy floss.
I am thankful I wake up each day like this.

Miss Mia loves to write her name – she does it over and over again, as if there were no other word more beautiful than that one.
We tried to see if she wanted to write some other words.
C-A-T… that spells CAT mummy” she exclaimed as she floated her fingers across the iPad.
My heart was so very close to bursting with pride.

The room was quiet, the air was still.
You asked if I could see the butterflies in the garden.
I nodded as you watched them flutter around.
You told me it was the fairies that painted the colour onto their wings.
“They’re so boo-ti-full mummy” you said.
Yes they are Miss Mia, and yes you are.

The warm afternoon breeze tickled your skin as you slept and your eyelids flickered and danced while beautiful dreams played in your mind.
The silence was only broken by the dull clicks of the shutter – both you and your brother are so peaceful in slumber.
Car naps are heavenly.

Grow | Baby photographer

When I photographed her as a newborn, I knew what a pleasure it would be watching her grow. What joy it would bring into my life seeing her change bit by bit every time we played together. Watching her learn, discover and beautify her life with all there was around her.

Even at birth her eyes were magnetic. That hasn’t changed. She is strong, with such a beautiful soft side truly reflective of the woman she will one day grow in to. She is connected to her surrounding, to love, to security. She adores the temptation of play. She is cheeky, inquisitive and fiercely loyal. She shines and inspires those around her.

Yes, April – watching you grow is a pleasure. I am so happy you are in my life xx

A most precious gift | Baby photographer

“Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing…”
- Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Good Day | Baby photography

She brought with her a cheeky breath, a whisper of confidence, a genuine smile that connected the soul.
Delicious thighs and chunky arms with filled with so much love reserved for her beautiful mama.
We clapped, we played, we cuddled, we loved – we were happy.

Reflections of Motherhood | Newborn photographer

To those who are soon-to-be mamas, hoping to become mamas one day, or mamas already… you must watch this. I only wish this had been made before I became a mama ;)

Little One | Newborn photography

Oh little man, your possibilities are infinite and without limits. You are loved and adored in more ways than soft hairs upon your head. From the wispy peach fuzz on your cheeks to the beautiful furrow in your chin as you sleep, your good nature and trust in me made my soul happy. Everybody is so grateful to have you here.

Sometimes we are fortunate enough to experience moments of great love and great worth. You, my tiny friend, allowed me the share both with you.

Thank you xx
