Have a beautiful weekend
x

To all the mamas…
Don’t forget your worth.
You are incredible beyond imagination.
You care and love like you’ve never known before.
You are someone’s whole world.
Such beauty exists in your giving.
Forgive mistakes, embrace all you have learnt.
In truth, you are as perfect as you need to be.

“Can I take a pitcha wif you today mumeeee?”, she said.
Why yes, sweetheart.
Yes, you can.
Camera held steady by me.
Shutter pressed by Miss Mia.
Direction and entertainment by Charlie Bucket.

Before I finish this year’s January photo-a-day project I wanted to say one thing:
Thank you.
Thank for for being here.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, your words of love, your whispers and your smiles.
Thank you for staying even if only for a second to check in on us.
If you have been following the whole project, a part, or even if this is your first visit… thank you.
Hug your loved ones today.

It was such a long day today for my beautiful little people.
Driving, eating, playing, driving, napping, playing, eating, playing, eating…
They are so very good to me.
And still, even when it’s past his bedtime, Charlie Bucket flashes me a glance that makes me wish the hours in the day were just that little bit longer so I can soak up this beautiful day for a while more yet.

She.
As beautiful as the breath of first light over the horizon on a misty morning.
In fact, even more so.

You may not have mastered the art of blowing dandelions into the wind like your sister, but you sure look cute when you pucker your lips and try… xx

The rain stopped, and the sun awoke this morning.
I watched you enjoy the peace and quiet.
Mornings are always a calm time for you, more so as you’ve grown older.
Your bed hair reminds me of soft fairy floss.
I am thankful I wake up each day like this.

Miss Mia loves to write her name – she does it over and over again, as if there were no other word more beautiful than that one.
We tried to see if she wanted to write some other words.
“C-A-T… that spells CAT mummy” she exclaimed as she floated her fingers across the iPad.
My heart was so very close to bursting with pride.

The room was quiet, the air was still.
You asked if I could see the butterflies in the garden.
I nodded as you watched them flutter around.
You told me it was the fairies that painted the colour onto their wings.
“They’re so boo-ti-full mummy” you said.
Yes they are Miss Mia, and yes you are.
