Two little boys | Melbourne Child Photographer

I swear that if I have a boy with this pregnancy, I want him to be just like these two. Urgh… SO adorable and so much fun.

Big brother Harry was divine – he made my memory work overtime when we had an in-depth conversation about TMNT (that’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for all of you not in the ‘know’…) and their new nicknames, adventures and who had the coolest gear.

Lil’ bro Archie was one of the cutest little munchkins, with a massive mop of curly hair for me to play with. I swear this kid’s cricket skills are beyond normal – he has more coordination at two than I have at 29… seriously. It was embarrassing really – ah well, I will get over it eventually!

{Maree, thanks for choosing me to spend a wonderful morning with your family! Cricket, TMNT speak, coffee breaks and all…!}

Please excuse the state of Mia’s room – like all toddlers, she loves to pull things out, drop them as they fall and then move on to the next ‘task’…

{and when she was good she was very very good, and when she was bad she was horrrrrrrid!}

Ok, ok… so you know I have a ‘thing’ for dark eyes. But combine that with blonde hair and….. wooooooah! This is what you get – the gorgeous Oskar!

This boy was such a deep soul – he loved his cars (and we probably spent most if not all of the session running around trying to find some, which is hard when you’re in the garden) and loved his bubbles. Adored his mummy, and was very shy and reserved (until we saw a car!). Connecting with him was a joy – the moments of those beautiful and genuine smiles from him were such a treat. I always get so excited to connect with kids on that level (which is why you will never, ever….EVER hear the words ‘smile’ or ‘cheese’ out of my mouth!!) and he was no exception.

Some sneaky peeks:

{Ingrid, what a gorgeous soul you have there. Cuddle him lots for me}

They say toddlers are inquisitive, cheeky and full of beans – ‘they’ aren’t wrong. This is the definition of Alexander, and kept me on my toes all morning! Finding out what made him tick was great fun – and tell me that gorgeous mop of hair on his head doesn’t make you want to reach out and ruffle it (I know I did a few times… can’t help it, it’s too adorable!)

And the best part about him? He loves dancing to Jack Johnson – what a champion!

{Mac, it was a pleasure for me to spend the morning in your gorgeous abode photographing your little man! I will be in touch as soon as your proofs are ready}

Brighton megafest weekend | Melbourne child photography

Trying to dodge the bad weather this weekend felt so much like typical ‘Melbourne’ – wait 5 minutes and the weather will change. We had sun, blue skies, rain, wind, clouds – all over a span of an hour both on Saturday and Sunday. The great thing about kids though is that they just don’t care – they don’t care if it’s raining, or cloudy or cold. They’re just happy to be having fun!!

I got to play with the beautiful Miss Hayden on Saturday who adored being a daddy’s girl, with a bit of rough and tumble thrown in for good measure. And if you don’t believe me about Melbourne’s weather, 5 minutes before that second blue sky shot was taken it was raining… go figure! Loved her cheeky grin (and how she smiles with her eyes).

{She was a doll Andree – such a little infectious personality and clearly loves the attention of her parents. What a treat!!}

Sunday I got to see my most favourite twins that I have now photographed three times (as newborns, at 7 months and now at just over a year old). I adore this entire family – they have me laughing non-stop the whole time I am with them and I always have so much fun. The great thing for me was to see how much the twins had changed since I saw them last. Now they were on the move – and quickly! Their little personalities had blossomed and it was like spending time with friends that morning.

ADORE these two!!!

{How lucky am I Michelle to have seen you all again!!! I am always on a high after your sessions and this was no exception! Hope you all had a ball and the kids enjoyed themselves!}

Two seconds.

That was literally the space of time I had to capture the ‘moments’ of this little one as she stopped running. The best part about watching her running was that she would always make sure someone was running after her before she went into full gear – after all, there’s nothing better than a good chase is there?

You can see what a gorgeous little personality Emmerson is from her images – lots of laughs and giant genuine smiles, big cheeky grin and a mop of hair to die for.

Enjoyed every inch of this girl.

{I adored learning about her little personality at this session, Melinda! She has such a wonderful little sense of humour at such a young age – gorgeous thing she is!}

Warning: cute kids alert!

I swear I seem to photograph all of the cutest kids in Melbourne… I do not lie. I get the bluest eyes, the blondest curls, the gigantic lashes, the cheeky grins and the belly laughs.

So when people ask me do I enjoy my job, well – it’s tough, but someone has to be there to photograph these gorgeous things:

Miss Chloe had my heart the moment I walked in the door. She was fiesty, independent, made little fuss as her brother knocked her out of the way time after time, and had a cheeky grin to die for. I mean honestly, how can you not look at that face of hers and just melt?

And Master Brayden? Adorable… one of the smartest little kids I’ve ever met. His vocabulary and sentence structure was out of this world, but the part I loved most about him was that he was devoted in his role as big brother to Chloe. He was always there to watch out for her when she got into trouble, would move her away from things that she wasn’t supposed to touch and would generally ‘mother’ her the whole time. Absolutely too cute for words!!

{Rachelle – almost finished proofing this for you, will drop you an email as soon as everything is ready to view for you!! Your kids are the reason I love doing what I do!}

Lucky duck!

In January, I ran a promotion giving away a free session to one lucky family, and today was the day I finally got to meet them!

Gorgeous little Amelia, just under 5 months old, was my lovely little subject today. She was very patient with us all morning and had the most divine little pout going for her (as I said to mum Shelley, supermodels rarely smile anyway so she’s got that pout happening already).

And speaking of supermodels, she certainly had the height going for her as well – she was already 56cms at birth (yep, that’s not a typo!) so this pretty lass is well on her way… watch our Paris, Milan, New York!

{Shelley – thank you so much for your lovely hospitality today, I hope you all had a wonderful morning, and enjoy the sneak peeks}

Urban baby

My clients today were all the way from Tasmania. No, no – they didn’t come all this way just for some photos (although, that would be nice! LOL) but while they were here, Kass contacted me to arrange a session for her gorgeous little cheeksta of a daughter, Isabella.

Being based in the city meant we got to have both the comfort of their hotel room, as well as give Isabella a little change of scenery when things started to get a bit boring. She was an absolute trooper – lots of giggles, lots of hugs, and plenty of ‘fake cries’ thrown into the mix just to keep us on our toes (and I’ve thrown one into the gallery for good measure… she makes me laugh so much!)

Time for me to try out a new format with the photos on my blog too – a change is as good as a holiday (isn’t it?? Please tell me it’s true…) so I’ll see how this format takes my fancy for a while ;)

{Kass – hope you enjoy the sneak peeks and I hope the flight home wasn’t too stressful. Thanks so much for having me take your darling daughter’s photos for you while you were on holiday!}
