Baby J | Melbourne baby photographer

Another dark, cold and dreary Melbourne day, but certainly not while this man was around.  He made my world fill with sunshine and rainbows.

His eyes were to-die-for gorgeous and when he stared at me with them, you could really feel his beautiful personality. And of couse, what better way to show off those baby blues than to pop some beanies on him – doesn’t he just melt your heart?!

Meet Caleb – green eyes, green shirt, green wall… does it get any better?!

Yep, that’s baby bro Noah… delish!! He had this adorable comfort habit of putting these two fingers into his mouth (rock on dude!!) and then gaze up at me with the most adorable baby blues complete with long black lashes (both of the boys had lashes most girls would kill for – seriously). Such a happy little thing he was too – such a joy connecting with these beautiful souls!

{What a beautiful morning with your gorgeous boys Paula. Such a treat for me – hugs for Noah and thank Caleb for being such a wonderful helper!}

Happy Birthday Princess Mia | Melbourne Child Photography

Today was my gorgeous, beautiful, darling Mia’s second birthday.

She is my joy, my sunshine, my life. She is my reason for living and the reason I do what I do.

She makes me smile every day and she knows how to push my buttons, as well as laugh like there is no tomorrow. She knows me better than I ever thought a 2 year old could, and every day surprises me with her beautiful, soft and gentle nature that is a trademark of hers. She absolutely hates it when I sing to her (pity, since anyone that knows me knows I love to sing), loves reading books, cherishes 3:30pm when Hi-5 comes on for the afternoon, loves cuddling by tucking her arms and legs underneath her like a little ball, loves it when I take photos of her just so that she can come and sit with me to have a look at the LCD on the back of the camera, has taken an immense liking to blowing out candles on her birthday cake, hates it when we ask her to close the fridge when she hasn’t finished inspecting everything in there for the 50th time that day, loves jumping into bed to wake up daddy, is obsessed with her stacking cups from Ikea, changes her mind daily on what food she loves or loathes, loves wearing dresses and hates when I don’t let her play/eat the glue sticks that sit in the top drawer of my office.

My princess is obsessed with slides at the moment. Our daily trip to the park turns into a nightmare when trying to get her home as she refuses to leave without a tantrum. We made the quick decision therefore to get a mini playset complete with a slide (or “siiiiiiiide”, as Mia calls it) for her birthday for home. Of course, now that she knows that the slide can flip over to form stairs on the other side, every time she goes up or down she demands that we change it over from one to the other so she can have the best of both worlds at the same time. I am hoping this is only a passing fad for her and she will forget about it by tomorrow…I know, wishful thinking!

Happy 2nd birthday princess

Three times lucky | Melbourne children’s photographer

Yep, I’m lucky alright.

This was not the first, or second, but third time I got to see gorgeous Thomas in the space of a year. I was first contacted to capture his newborn photography, then again at around 6 months of age, and I was still even allowed back to photograph him at one year old!

Happy first birthday gorgeous little man!

{Naomi, he honestly keeps getting cuter each time I see him… you’ll be swatting those girls away from your door in no time. I love being able to watch him grow up – always a pleasure!}

Jet setting Ethan | Melbourne kids photographer

I was so honoured to have Lisa contact me from Sydney saying that she wanted to book in for a session while they were in Melbourne this weekend. The weather was stunning today so it was great to take advantage and have their session outdoors.

Ethan had the most gorgeous captivating eyes (honestly… check out the last sneak peek photo of him below) and was a gorgeous little munchkin to hang out with!

{Lisa I hope you had a safe trip home to your ‘warmer’ Sydney weather!! Thanks for the fun afternoon}

Two little boys | Melbourne Child Photographer

I swear that if I have a boy with this pregnancy, I want him to be just like these two. Urgh… SO adorable and so much fun.

Big brother Harry was divine – he made my memory work overtime when we had an in-depth conversation about TMNT (that’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for all of you not in the ‘know’…) and their new nicknames, adventures and who had the coolest gear.

Lil’ bro Archie was one of the cutest little munchkins, with a massive mop of curly hair for me to play with. I swear this kid’s cricket skills are beyond normal – he has more coordination at two than I have at 29… seriously. It was embarrassing really – ah well, I will get over it eventually!

{Maree, thanks for choosing me to spend a wonderful morning with your family! Cricket, TMNT speak, coffee breaks and all…!}

There once was a girl who had a little curl | Baby photographer, Melbourne

Please excuse the state of Mia’s room – like all toddlers, she loves to pull things out, drop them as they fall and then move on to the next ‘task’…

{and when she was good she was very very good, and when she was bad she was horrrrrrrid!}

Mr Heartbreaker | Melbourne Children’s Photographer

Ok, ok… so you know I have a ‘thing’ for dark eyes. But combine that with blonde hair and….. wooooooah! This is what you get – the gorgeous Oskar!

This boy was such a deep soul – he loved his cars (and we probably spent most if not all of the session running around trying to find some, which is hard when you’re in the garden) and loved his bubbles. Adored his mummy, and was very shy and reserved (until we saw a car!). Connecting with him was a joy – the moments of those beautiful and genuine smiles from him were such a treat. I always get so excited to connect with kids on that level (which is why you will never, ever….EVER hear the words ‘smile’ or ‘cheese’ out of my mouth!!) and he was no exception.

Some sneaky peeks:

{Ingrid, what a gorgeous soul you have there. Cuddle him lots for me}

One cheeky monkey | Children’s photographer in Melbourne

They say toddlers are inquisitive, cheeky and full of beans – ‘they’ aren’t wrong. This is the definition of Alexander, and kept me on my toes all morning! Finding out what made him tick was great fun – and tell me that gorgeous mop of hair on his head doesn’t make you want to reach out and ruffle it (I know I did a few times… can’t help it, it’s too adorable!)

And the best part about him? He loves dancing to Jack Johnson – what a champion!

{Mac, it was a pleasure for me to spend the morning in your gorgeous abode photographing your little man! I will be in touch as soon as your proofs are ready}

Brighton megafest weekend | Melbourne child photography

Trying to dodge the bad weather this weekend felt so much like typical ‘Melbourne’ – wait 5 minutes and the weather will change. We had sun, blue skies, rain, wind, clouds – all over a span of an hour both on Saturday and Sunday. The great thing about kids though is that they just don’t care – they don’t care if it’s raining, or cloudy or cold. They’re just happy to be having fun!!

I got to play with the beautiful Miss Hayden on Saturday who adored being a daddy’s girl, with a bit of rough and tumble thrown in for good measure. And if you don’t believe me about Melbourne’s weather, 5 minutes before that second blue sky shot was taken it was raining… go figure! Loved her cheeky grin (and how she smiles with her eyes).

{She was a doll Andree – such a little infectious personality and clearly loves the attention of her parents. What a treat!!}

Sunday I got to see my most favourite twins that I have now photographed three times (as newborns, at 7 months and now at just over a year old). I adore this entire family – they have me laughing non-stop the whole time I am with them and I always have so much fun. The great thing for me was to see how much the twins had changed since I saw them last. Now they were on the move – and quickly! Their little personalities had blossomed and it was like spending time with friends that morning.

ADORE these two!!!

{How lucky am I Michelle to have seen you all again!!! I am always on a high after your sessions and this was no exception! Hope you all had a ball and the kids enjoyed themselves!}
