Day 28: The Very Hungry Caterpillar was one of my favourite books growing up. In fact, this image above is actually my copy from when I was little. One of the things I loved most was books when I was younger, and being able to pass those favourites down to my kids is one of the most rewarding joys of being a parent. Mia just adores her them – she ‘reads’ along with us, page by page, and yet still has the same delight on her face as if she’s never heard the story before. It’s the beautiful thing about kids – they never tire of the same favourites. It could be the hundredth time you’ve read something like The Very Hungry Caterpillar and it will still be such a joy to them. She’s now taken to reading to Charlie boy as well (which I think he enjoys just as much as her sometimes) and it’s all kinds of cute listening to them giggling away at each other. Love those moments.

Day 5: Spent a beautiful afternoon with Barb of JinkyArt yesterday, we all had a ball (well, apart from Charlie who decided yesterday would be the day he’d go without sleeping). Seriously, one of the most beautiful souls in this world - chilled, creative and special Miss Mia and I spent some time last week cutting out little paper hearts to play with, and today of course, she still wouldn’t put them down. So, we had a bit of cheeky love heart fun with them. We’re such goofballs when we play together.

Even though I keep my photo-a-day series to black and white landscape images, I tell you – this looks way cool in colour too!

Day Two: Oh those lashes. They melt me. I still can’t believe I helped make them…

Pure, sweet and gorgeous he was – can’t you just smell the babyness on him?!

She is the most feisty and headstrong little thing and watching her fight going to sleep was entertainment enough for me.  Of course, it also means gorgeous photo opportunities as well (it’s no secret I adore sleeping babies) and also meant that poor red face was gorgeously peachy again after she woke. We had so much fun playing with her – watching her obsession with paper too had me in stitches. Loved her.

The best part about Harry was the giant smile that came across his face every time he fell over after trying to sit up for a period of time. Most kids would panic as they toppled over but not Harry – it was like a great old game for him! The cheeky grin that he would give as you picked him up would seriously melt your heart. Such a treasure he is!

{So, so lovely to see you again Melinda – you should be so super proud of this little being you have brought into the world. It was such a great pleasure to spend the morning playing with you both – big hugs to Monty!}

Ok, ok, ok…. so I KNOW each session I finish thinking I get to photograph the best looking kids on the planet… but COME ONE!!! Take one look at little Leah and tell me she isn’t just the icing on the cake? As a baby photographer, I may be biased as I think every kid I photograph is pretty darn cute but I did have to excuse myself in front of Leah’s parents for using the phrase “I want to eat you all up” too much in conjunction with a lot of blowing raspberries on her toes. How could you not though?

Urgh…. if you can buy one of these babies somewhere… give me an order for 10!

{Meaghan – one word…. DIVINE! So so happy after her session, and waiting for her to fall asleep (albeit only for 2 mins) was so worth it!}

The first thing I wanted to do when I met him was ruffle that gorgeous mop of hair on his head. Don’t you just love it?! He had such a gorgeous little personality. He’s not on the move yet, but boy it won’t be long. Those legs were getting a major workout. Just love, love, love this age!

I love it when clients allow me to take the lead with clothing choices and positioning – my motto is always, SIMPLE IS BEST! You can never go wrong with simple, and this gorgeous thing stole the show anyway so it wouldn’t have mattered in the slightest what we had her dressed in.

Adored every single connecting moment with her – her smile gives me warm hugs from the inside out!
