Day 28: The Very Hungry Caterpillar was one of my favourite books growing up. In fact, this image above is actually my copy from when I was little. One of the things I loved most was books when I was younger, and being able to pass those favourites down to my kids is one of the most rewarding joys of being a parent. Mia just adores her them – she ‘reads’ along with us, page by page, and yet still has the same delight on her face as if she’s never heard the story before. It’s the beautiful thing about kids – they never tire of the same favourites. It could be the hundredth time you’ve read something like The Very Hungry Caterpillar and it will still be such a joy to them. She’s now taken to reading to Charlie boy as well (which I think he enjoys just as much as her sometimes) and it’s all kinds of cute listening to them giggling away at each other. Love those moments.
Miss Mia and I spent some time last week cutting out little paper hearts to play with, and today of course, she still wouldn’t put them down. So, we had a bit of cheeky love heart fun with them. We’re such goofballs when we play together.
