Photo-a-day: Day 23 | Baby photography

    {Photo-a-Day Project: A personal project that I undertake every January for an entire month taking one photo a day of my children.}

    Dear Charlie Bucket,
    How sweetly perfect that January was not only the month that your sister learnt to jump,
    But it is also the month that you learnt too.
    My heart could very possibly burst with pride.

    Little friend | Baby photography, Melbourne

    Beautiful child,
    I have seen your family grow.
    Oh, the sweet joy in watching your beauty unfold over time.
    Your sister was only days old when she first came to visit me.
    She was your age when I saw her again.
    The third time I saw her, she had you, only days old, to show me.
    And now I see you again, like your sister, as you grow.
    We played, we danced, we chatted, we laughed.
    Your sister played ‘mummy’, and made up beds on the floor for her toys to nap.
    She made sure that you and your mummy had one too.
    Thank you for sharing such a special day with me, again.
    There is so much beauty in your existence, little friend.
    And so much love to be shared.

    Photo-a-day: Day 22 | Baby photographer

    {Photo-a-Day Project: A personal project that I undertake every January for an entire month taking one photo a day of my children.}

    I could never play with you the way daddy can.
    I can hug you when you are sad.
    I can kiss your ‘owies’ when you fall.
    I can read books until the wee hours of the morning with you.
    I can make up wondrous tales about your food as though they were people, so that you will eat it.
    I can brush your hair softly from your face, at least a thousand times a day.
    I can teach you to read and almost burst with pride.
    I can watch your heavenly breaths while you sleep.
    But I could never play with you the way daddy can.

    Photo-a-day: Day 21 | Baby photographer

    {Photo-a-Day Project: A personal project that I undertake every January for an entire month taking one photo a day of my children.}

    “Food shopping” with daddy is one of your most favourite things to do.
    You take such pride in helping get items off the shelf.
    Even more so when putting them into the trolley.
    Everything always has a place.
    But when there are mini trolleys available so you can follow behind daddy,
    Your day becomes just that bit sweeter.

    {Photo-a-Day Project: A personal project that I undertake every January for an entire month taking one photo a day of my children.}

    I ring the bell.
    A few seconds pass.
    I hear footsteps galloping towards the door.
    My mummy’s coming…!” I hear you shout from inside daycare.
    Really? Is it your mummy?” replies your carer.
    Yes! Yes! It’s my mummy!
    Click.
    Unlatch.
    The door handle turns.
    The sweetest, most excited little face peeks out at me from behind the door.
    Every. Single.Time.
    And then what glorious cuddles follow.
    So many cuddles.

    Photo-a-day: Day 19 | Baby photography Melbourne

    {Photo-a-Day Project: A personal project that I undertake every January for an entire month taking one photo a day of my children.}

    Dear milk-loving-Mia,
    For your next birthday, I propose we buy you a cow.
    I suspect, it may be cheaper.
    And more fun.
    Love Mama x

    Embrace | Melbourne baby photographer

    It matters not how old they are,
    You never stop wanting to embrace them close like this.
    Never.

    The Free Hugs Campaign has been around for a while.
    Yet, I have always admired what it stands for.
    That hope, contact and love are the fundamentals of what we base our lives on.
    That something as simple as a hug can make all of the difference.
    That the reminder of human connection is a far more powerful tool than it first may seem.
    That touch can be a way of showing someone how you see them.
    Hugs are in no short supply in our household.
    But any excuse to get one, will always make me smile.

    Sometimes
    Not even all of the kisses in the world
    Could ever express
    How excited she is to meet him

    {Photo-a-Day Project: A personal project that I undertake every January for an entire month taking one photo a day of my children.}

    You were always a baby who was scared of the water.
    When you were born, you would cry endlessly at bath time.
    Pools were completely off limits.
    But this Christmas, you surprised everyone when you declared that you wanted swimming lessons from Santa.
    Sweet girl, your water phobia is diminishing as your spirit grows.
    Time and patience is all you needed.
    Everything in its own time.
    And if your face is anything to go by today, water is no stranger anymore.
