Miss Viola: Without our heart song, we can’t be truly penguin, can we?
Class: No.
Miss Viola: But, my dears, it’s not something I can actually teach you. Does anybody know why? Anyone? Anyone?
Gloria: You can’t teach it to us, ma’am, because we have to find out heart songs all by ourselves.
Miss Viola: Well done, you.
Gloria: It’s the voice you hear inside, who you truly are.

Ah the glorious lessons that can be learned from children’s movies like ‘Happy Feet’.
In fact, there are always lessons to be learned.
We are born with a heart song, we just sometimes struggle on that journey to find it.
And it may not be the one you thought it was.
But I promise, when you do, you feel like this…

When is the right moment to start releasing?
At what point do your fingertips slowly start to lift?
You breathe deeply, knowing that no matter how tight you enfold them, there is always part that never seems close enough.
Do you ever feel ready?
Then you let go, but their scent still lingers.
Close to your lips, your heart.
A reminder of that beautiful embrace.

Energy | Newborn photography Melbourne

I believe in energy.
Very much so.
It surrounds us, moves us, guides us, comforts us and pushes us.
I believe that positive thoughts, words and actions have meaning and consequence.
There is a transference of that same energy  in every session that transpires which directly affects the bond between my little friends and I.
As a newborn photographer, I feed off the energy that surrounds my babies, just as they do with me.
(And yes, they are ‘my babies’; for every one is treated in the same way as I would my own).
I believe that calm creates calm.
I believe that love breeds love.
Nurture the energy that surrounds you.
Be beautiful, and live beautifully.
