Happy Father’s Day

A big happy Father’s Day to all of the dads and dads-to-be on this wonderful day. I hope you are all enjoying the day with your precious families and loved ones.

Enjoy!

Sneaky peeks from the weekend

I have had a mega girly weekend!!

After Friday’s session with gorgeous little Olivia, I met two other little cuties over the weekend who made my heart sing.

When Sharni’s parents told me that she loved to bake, and then showed me her gorgeous little cooking outfit, tell me you couldn’t resist wanting to snap some photos of her doing what she loves and looking so gorgeous at the same time.

I love her watching the mixing bowl here… as if to say – when can I eat it?!

Mmm, pink icing (check out those lips!! hehe)

And after the baking was all done, we went outside for a bit of explore time

Last but not least was gorgeous Audrey who made my job so completely easy I could have left after only 15 minutes of taking her photos. Her parents mentioned that she chose the day of her photographs not to have a sleep that day (don’t they always?!) but you would have never guessed in that first period – she was all smiles, giggles and belly laughs. A complete darling!

Look at that gorgeous smile of hers…

{Thanks so much to both families for having me capture some memories for you this weekend! Enjoy the sneak peeks and I will be in touch with you shortly. I hope Sharni didn’t develop too much of a sweet tooth after her cooking session and I hope Audrey had a good sleep after her session!!}

Curly Sue

When gorgeous little Olivia greeted me at the door today, all I wanted to do was ruffle that gorgeous curly mop of hair on the top of her head!

She is one of those adorable little things that is happy to go to anyone and give them a cuddle so long as it means she gets attention… fine with me! I would have cuddled her all day if her mum would have let me (although I suppose it would be good if I was actually taking photos at the same time given that was the reason I was there…)

And honestly, does it get any better than beautiful baby bums?? Her tooshie is the cutest!!!

{Thanks for letting me cuddle Olivia all morning Julia – I hope she had fun (did she zonk after I left?!) and I hope you enjoy the sneaky peeks!!}

Hamish and Zara

One of the things I enjoy most about what I do is the chance to photograph kids in their own environment where they feel happy and relaxed. This can be anywhere – their home, the beach, gardens – but there’s always something different at every session!

I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph the adorable Hamish and Zara on Wednesday in their gorgeous home. We played chasey with the rain for a while not knowing if it would hold off allowing us to get some pics outdoors, but thankfully it did! We played soccer, blew bubbles into the air, tickled each other silly, drank hot chocolate and finished with a story at the end of the session. So much fuuuun!

{Renae, it was a pleasure to meet you and your gorgeous kids – hope they enjoyed themselves as much as I did. Best of luck to Hamish in his soccer career and I hope Zara eventually lets you change her out of her new dress!}

I wish the weather was kinder!

After a glorious Saturday morning, I was hoping the weather would be just as kind for my session on Sunday. Sadly… not! It was just as well that Sunday’s session was a combined maternity/2 year old session which we had planned indoors anyway, but my camera settings got a good work out on Sunday trying to make sure we had some good light to work with.

My maternity session was with the gorgeous Nicole from Allure Designer Stationery (check out her website, she has some gorgeous stuff – and I was lucky enough to see some in person too) – she’s ridiculously photogenic so I won’t make you all jealous by posting any face pics of her here, but I will share her gorgeous belly with you all:

So loving those gorgeous red nails…. roaaaaawr!

And her daughter Taya – just as beautiful and sweet as her mummy!

{Hope you enjoy the sneak peeks Nicole, can can’t wait to see you soon for your newborn session!!}

The Colour of Love

It’s really no secret that I love colour in my photographs. To me, it brings out the fun, vibrancy and energy of youth in all of its delicious details.

My session on Saturday involved lots of colour – lots and lots and lots of colour. My gorgeous family that day braved the frosty Melbourne morning as we pretended it was lovely and warm rather than the middle of Winter, but it certainly paid off. We were therefore able to combine my two favourite loves at the moment – beanies and pettiskirts!

Gorgeous Lily and Angus were two of the most adorable little things ever – very chatty (both of them!), very outgoing and loved their family. I absolutely adore being around families who obviously adore each other and this family was no exception… even down to their beautiful dog Leroy.

I’ve gone a bit overboard with the sneak peeks for this session but I have so many, many favourites that even choosing these was a hard task!

I also had to include this very last photo of Lily – we were both singing songs from High School Musical (shh, yes, I am a HUGE FAN!! haha) and she was so into the moment… totally makes me laugh looking at this shot!

{Erica, I really had such a wonderful time with your family on Saturday – and I hope you all did too!! It was a pleasure to spend the morning with you all, I really mean that – there are no shortage of ‘happy’ photos from your session!}

Mothers Network Mini Sessions

Had a series of mini-sessions today for the lovely mums at Mothers Network. Mothers Network is a not-for-profit charitable organisation founded and run by local volunteer mothers within the Melton East and Brimbank communities. It’s a fabulous little group where the mums can all get together for a coffee and a chat and the children can play with each other in the wonderful facilities provided by the Council.

It was tiring and challenging – but still fun. So many gorgeous little kidlets that I got to play with today and enjoyed every moment of it. I had a big smile on my face this evening as I was uploading all of the shots from today and going through them seeing all these happy smiling faces.

Have a mentioned lately how much I love my job…??

Love, Actually!

I loved this family – I loved them because they loved each other. The kids adored each other, the parent laughed with the kidlets, there were a few ‘darlings’ thrown around between the parents too (or maybe it was sweetie, whatever it was… it was gorgeous!)

I love the name Lucy, and I love that her favourite book was called “My New Baby” which she proudly read to me from her big girl bed…

I love her brother Liam, who gave the biggest, most heartfelt giggles I’ve seen from a three month old baby yet…

I love that we were able to incorporate one of the blankets that dad used as a baby in today’s photo session with Liam…

And finally, I love - no, I adore the giant grin that came across my face when I opened up this photo of Lucy playing peek-a-boo in the backyard. I love that I can still hear her laughing…

{I have too many favourites from today Adele, so I hope these will suffice for now. What a great morning – thanks for the yummy muffins and I will be in touch soon!}

Weekend sneak peeks

It is so lovely to be around kids that genuinely get along well with each other, it really is. Sure, they get on each other’s nerves just like any siblings, but these two cuties from Saturday were so fun to be around.

There were no shortage of giggles and grins from these two that’s for sure, and hopefully they were having as much fun as they appeared to be having!

Love this shot – my fave from the session. I didn’t even tell them to grab each other’s hand; they did that all on their own! CUUUUTE!

And another one, because they were so cute:

{I hope the kids had a wonderful afternoon Adriana and that you enjoy the sneak peeks}

Back for more

You may remember Twyla and Peter from their session I did for them a few months ago. Twyla was pregnant at the time, and has since given birth to the adorable little princess you see here:

When Twyla emailed me shortly after her birth she said “The baby’s name is Amaryn Ava. Amaryn means rain (aboriginal in origin). It was a pretty heavy storm the night she was born. Ava means bird in Latin…she’s a tiny thing, 6 lbs even.” I couldn’t think of a more fitting name for this little cherub and only made it that extra special to know that they had such meaning for the family. So gorgeous!

So today, I finally got to meet little Amaryn, her daddy Todd and of course, see the gorgeous Mr Peter and Twyla again.

We also went to the park to get some family photos done as well – this was one of my favourites from the day as well!

\

And finally, one just for Twyla…!! Nice face Todd!!

{How honoured am I to not only be able to take photographs for you family once, but twice? I adored my morning, Amaryn is a gorgeous little thing and Peter will always have a place in my heart!}
