Pink Pocket Rocket | Melbourne child photography

Two seconds.

That was literally the space of time I had to capture the ‘moments’ of this little one as she stopped running. The best part about watching her running was that she would always make sure someone was running after her before she went into full gear – after all, there’s nothing better than a good chase is there?

You can see what a gorgeous little personality Emmerson is from her images – lots of laughs and giant genuine smiles, big cheeky grin and a mop of hair to die for.

Enjoyed every inch of this girl.

{I adored learning about her little personality at this session, Melinda! She has such a wonderful little sense of humour at such a young age – gorgeous thing she is!}

Three and a bump | Melbourne pregnancy photographer

This gorgeous little family is just weeks away (or less perhaps!) of welcoming a new addition to their world. I always love my maternity sessions (and not just because they’re a prelude to my newborn sessions!) because it’s also a time for families to connect and remember the absolute miracle that they are experiencing at that moment in their lives.

Oliver is just over two years of age, but is going on 30. He honestly did not stop chatting the whole time we were together blurting out fully formed sentences about what he was doing, or where he wanted to go – he had my in hysterics most of the time. I know he is going to make such a wonderful big brother!

{Jane, would you believe I got sunburn?!? How stupid am I? First time ever on a shoot! Had a lovely relaxing afternoon with you all, and can’t wait to see you again in a few weeks!}

Summer + Harvey | Child Photographer, Melbourne

One of the things I enjoy most about my work is seeing the transformation that takes place in children during the course of their session. These adorable kids were a prime example of this. Extremely shy and timid at the beginning of the session, barely wanted to look at me let alone interact with me, but by the end of our time together, I was getting hugs and kisses and cheeky waves as they said goodbye.

It is that beautiful transformation and watching kids come out of their shells so they can enjoy themselves and be…. themselves(!) that makes this so enjoyable for me.

You can’t fake the real smiles – they come from within. The big-belly-laugh-tickle-me-all-over-run-with-my-heart-and-look-full-of-love type of smiles. Those are the ones I adore…

{Those adorable kids were a joy Tamsin – I adored every minute with them!}

The hottest day on record | Melbourne child photographer

Saturday morning started off pretty well – met my gorgeous clients for an early morning session at the beach. We knew it was a hot one so we planned to get it over and done with pretty early on to avoid having to be out on the scorching weather that was forecast for that day.

{Jaci, Harry was a trooper and obviously loves spending time at the beach. I hope you guys had a lovely morning and stayed as cool as you could for the rest of the day!}

However, the day turned into a day that I, nor any Australian, will soon forget. Raging bushfires stormed through Victoria taking with them lives, properties and hope. It probably took a good day or two for the grim reality of what hit our state to sink in and even now as I sit here typing this I still can’t quite believe what has happened. The current death toll stands at 180 with over 750 properties gone, entire towns have been lost – all from one day.

I’ve been sitting here thinking of what I can do to help, and when my gorgeous friend Kris Leigh from Newcastle said that she was going to be donating her session fees to the Red Cross to directly help the victims of the bushfires, I knew instantly what a beautiful idea it was.

For anyone here on in booking a session for April, please visit the Australian Red Cross website, donate your $99 session fee via the secure online donations form, send me an electronic copy of your receipt and we will confirm your session booking. However, please be sure to email me first so I know to reserve a date and also to let me know to expect your receipt!

All of my thoughts and prayers are with all of the victims affected, directly or indirectly, from the fires and I can only hope that as time passes, the process of rebuilding your lives becomes a little easier.

Noah and Lucy | Children’s Photographer, Melbourne

We were blessed with incredibly gorgeous weather this weekend in Melbourne – it was perfect. So nice to be outdoors, and lucky for me, my Sunday session was a beautiful session outdoors.

I got to play all morning with gorgeous little Noah and Lucy – Noah and I hunted for monsters and played Ernie Says (which apparently is Noah’s new version of Simon Says, I have so much to learn…!) and Lucy, who adored her big brother, followed him wherever he went!

{You can’t ask for more than kids being kids Ali, and that is the beauty of your children. Gorgeous souls, and I had a lovely morning with you all. I will be in touch soon}

Why Sundays are great | Children’s photography, Melbourne

… because it’s another day of the weekend
… because you can sleep in (sometimes!)
… because cooked breakfasts are much more common
… because family always seems to matter more
… because you can spend a gorgeous day at the beach with THIS adorable family!!!

As much as I adore them all anyway (because they’re friends of mine!!), photographing their little family on the weekend was fun, fun, fun! You may remember this gorgeous little blonde haired beauty from almost exactly this time last year, on my blog. Since then though, we have a devilishly handsome new addition to the family – Master Harry, who by the way, is so completely and utterly adorable I want to eat every last bit of him!

Miss Molly was as gorgeous for me as she always is and if I could have fit her in my pocket and taken her home with me, I would have!

Loved, loved, loved loved, loved (did I say, love??) this session and this family.

{It really isn’t fair on the rest of Melbourne, Australia, the UNIVERSE that you two make such gorgeous children together Shezra. I had an amazing day with all of you, and give your Mols and Haz and giant, enormous bear hug from me xx}

An update on this gorgeous face | Children’s photography, Melbourne

When Donna emailed me a few months ago saying they would be in Melbourne over Christmas and wanted me to meet up with them again to get some updated photos of Darcy, I was absolutely thrilled. This little man was such a joy to photograph the first time around and I had such a lovely morning with his family last time that I just couldn’t wait to see him again and how much he’d grown.

And boy has he grown! Now over a year old, and such a little man – we had such a great afternoon playing around in the park. I adore this little man – such a gorgeous flirt, loved chasing all of the dogs around the park and loved exploring. LOVE him!

{Such a treat Donna! Was so wonderful to catch up with you guys again and give some more cuddles to Darcy. Any time you’re next in Melbourne again, let me know!}

Is it Monday? | Baby Photographer Melbourne

It feels like the weekend today. This always happens after a series of public holidays – you get back to Monday and think ‘Monday? Is it really Monday? Just doesn’t feel like a Monday….’

That being said, it was still a work day nonetheless. Lots of proofing, trying to catch up with blogging after my disaster of a week the other week which put me very, very far behind.

I photographed this adorable family a couple of weeks ago. I love watching proud parents – and I especially love when those proud parents bond with their kids and I’m able to witness it. It’s truly beautiful. This little chicken reminded me so much of my little Mia in her personality. Quite shy and reserved for me, but when mum or dad came near the smiles came out – ADORABLE!

{Cam and Tracy, Abigail was gorgeous and holds a very dear place in my heart. Thank you for sharing the morning with me – will be in touch with your proofs over the coming week or so}.

Good things come in threes | Melbourne Children’s Photographer

These images pretty much sum up this bunch- big brother James. He was my shining star, and loved looking after his two little sisters and helping me out. He has a gorgeous heart and it was so lovely to see him interact with his family!

Next there was little miss Amelia – the first of the twins. She was definitely the boss and was Miss Independent from the word go! I adored her spunky personality – she’ll be the one getting her sister into trouble later that’s for sure!

Last but not least is gorgeous Alannah who loved nothing more to be a parrot all day – whether it be to copy whatever we said to her, or to copy whatever her sister was doing. So funny to watch them. I definitely had a ball with this lot!

{Wow, will you look at that Snez! They’re all looking at me!!! And the better news is… I have some more too (of course). Hope these satisfy for now and I will be in touch soon with the rest of your gallery}

Back for more… | Baby Photographer, Melbourne

I was so lucky to be able to photograph little Thomas when he was only 2 weeks old, and this weekend I was lucky enough to see him again!

He was such a clever little chicken sitting up so nicely for me, and I think I detected some early crawling signs (sorry Naomi, he might be an early one there so the child-proofing should perhaps come sooner rather than later!! haha). As is usually the way when kids are this age, it was daddy who managed to get all of the big grins and laughs!

And just when we thought the session might be over, little Thomas decided to proove us wrong getting his second wind and produced some of my favourite shots from our session!

{It was an absolute pleasure catching up with you all again Naomi!! He is just getting more gorgeous as time goes on and I can’t wait to watch him grow!!}
