Master Louis | Baby photographer, Melbourne

When Emily first contacted me, she was booked in for both maternity photography and newborn photography with me. Unbeknownst to both of us, little Louis decided to arrive way ahead of schedule meaning we didn’t get the chance to do either!!

Instead, we organised for his session to be done now at around six months of age, and I am so glad that we got to capture him at this age. It’s hands down one of my favourites!

The first thing I noticed about him was how expressive his big blue eyes were. When he arrived to me for the session, he was fast asleep and so got a big rude shock waking to my giant camera in his face. We soon had a little chat and play though, and then the beautiful smiles and connection were there from then on.

Seriously, have I said how much I adore what I do?? No? Ok…. I LOVE MY JOB!

{He is such a special little man, Emily and it was such a pleasure to photograph him at this age. Hope he is feeling better soon!}

Baby’s got blue eyes | Melbourne baby photography

Oh, yes she did! Tilly was the most adorable thing on the planet – not even yet 6 months and already completely charming the pants off everyone around her. By the end of her session I wanted to wrap her up and take her home with me – such a gorgeous age!

{Had a beautiful morning with your family S, thanks for sharing it with me!}

Newborn Xavier | Melbourne newborn photography

Itty bitty babies…does it get much better? This gorgeous poppet arrived into the world a week earlier than scheduled and we just managed to fit him in on time – phew!

His lips were the most divine luscious things I have seen in a long time, and he was such a sweet little babe for me.

Love his gorgeous little piggy toes peeking out on that last one!

{His beautiful nature is a reflection on your love and devotion to him Angela and Rob – truly, you are both doing an amazing job and it was my pleasure to photograph this moment for you}

Newborn baby Lucy | Newborn photography, Melbourne

If it wasn’t fate enough that this little darling got given my favourite name, but she was gorgeous to boot! It still amazes me how after only 9 months this perfectly formed little person is brought into this world. You go from feeling the tickles and butterfly kisses of their fingers and toes, to the almost alienesque ‘get me out of here’ punches and kicks towards the end, but somehow, it’s all just ‘movement’ until suddenly you have this beautiful baby in your hands.

Meet baby Lucy at only 6 days old… and if she doesn’t make you clucky, then nothing will!

{Carly, you clever thing – look at what an adorable little human being you brought into this world. Promise me you won’t stop at one… those genes need to create more huggable children in the future!}

Happy Birthday Princess Mia | Melbourne Child Photography

Today was my gorgeous, beautiful, darling Mia’s second birthday.

She is my joy, my sunshine, my life. She is my reason for living and the reason I do what I do.

She makes me smile every day and she knows how to push my buttons, as well as laugh like there is no tomorrow. She knows me better than I ever thought a 2 year old could, and every day surprises me with her beautiful, soft and gentle nature that is a trademark of hers. She absolutely hates it when I sing to her (pity, since anyone that knows me knows I love to sing), loves reading books, cherishes 3:30pm when Hi-5 comes on for the afternoon, loves cuddling by tucking her arms and legs underneath her like a little ball, loves it when I take photos of her just so that she can come and sit with me to have a look at the LCD on the back of the camera, has taken an immense liking to blowing out candles on her birthday cake, hates it when we ask her to close the fridge when she hasn’t finished inspecting everything in there for the 50th time that day, loves jumping into bed to wake up daddy, is obsessed with her stacking cups from Ikea, changes her mind daily on what food she loves or loathes, loves wearing dresses and hates when I don’t let her play/eat the glue sticks that sit in the top drawer of my office.

My princess is obsessed with slides at the moment. Our daily trip to the park turns into a nightmare when trying to get her home as she refuses to leave without a tantrum. We made the quick decision therefore to get a mini playset complete with a slide (or “siiiiiiiide”, as Mia calls it) for her birthday for home. Of course, now that she knows that the slide can flip over to form stairs on the other side, every time she goes up or down she demands that we change it over from one to the other so she can have the best of both worlds at the same time. I am hoping this is only a passing fad for her and she will forget about it by tomorrow…I know, wishful thinking!

Happy 2nd birthday princess

Lexie | Baby Photographer Melbourne

Lexie is not even six months old and was already sitting like a champion so I was so happy to be able to incorporate that milestone into her images.

What I love most about my photography sessions is finding out how I can connect with the people I photograph – and boy did she make me giggle when we found out what got her smiling.  I adore those beautiful connections – the ones where you really feel as though you are capturing the soul and essence of the person gazing into the camera. Darling little Lexie was no exception – adored her and photographing her!

{I’m so proud of her achievements to date Laura, and I could have stayed and ‘chatted’ with her all day long!}

Three times lucky | Melbourne children’s photographer

Yep, I’m lucky alright.

This was not the first, or second, but third time I got to see gorgeous Thomas in the space of a year. I was first contacted to capture his newborn photography, then again at around 6 months of age, and I was still even allowed back to photograph him at one year old!

Happy first birthday gorgeous little man!

{Naomi, he honestly keeps getting cuter each time I see him… you’ll be swatting those girls away from your door in no time. I love being able to watch him grow up – always a pleasure!}

Baby newborn Thomas | Newborn photography in Melbourne

The gorgeous Joanne (you may remember her maternity session from here) SMSed me last week to let me know that her little man Thomas arrived into the world. Couldn’t wait to get back and see her and meet the newest addition to her little family.

Baby Thomas was such a good little thing for me – loved to sleep, was very content after a feed and was beautifully curly and delicious. I wanted to cuddle him all day long!!

{Joanne, you looked radiant as a new mum and it was lovely to see your little family grow from two to three. BIg hugs to the little man}

Little Leonardo | Newborn photographer, Melbourne

My newborn love continues…

Lynn + James | Wedding photography, Melbourne

When Lynn first contacted me about wedding photography for her wedding in May, I was ecstatic. We actually went to school together and it’s been over 10 years since we last saw one another. Obviously lots has changed in our lives since we left school, but she’s still her same gorgeous self that I remember.

When I met up with James and Lynn a little while ago on a short trip to Melbourne (they live interstate) we chatted about how they met, their beautiful relationship, and one humdinger of an engagement story – complete with a choir serenading Lynn as James proposed. Seriously… talk about ROMANCE! I was so excited for these two in the lead up to the big day, and it certainly did not disappoint. I was in wedding photographer heaven. They were married at the beautiful Newman College Chapel at the University of Melbourne, and we stayed on there to have some photos as well.

Lynn looked amazing on her wedding day – the strapless fishtail gown she chose suited her perfectly, and James looked very dapper in his pinstripe suit. The bridemaids were in classic cocktail style black dresses with white sashes, and the whole thing screamed classic elegance.

The gorgeous Julie Dammery from Beautique Creative did Lynn’s hair and makeup (and did an amazing job at that):

The handsome groom, completely unaware of how long he actually had to get ready for the ceremony, or how he was going to get there (and they say the bride is normally late…!!)

We got him there in the end, and good thing too because the ceremony was divine. We had a beautiful time after the ceremony also -

Um, did I say Lynn looked gorgeous??! Trust me, she suited being a bride!

Just a couple from the reception too which was at the Point in Albert Park (yummo!). Lynn and James had made up table numbers with a picture of each of them when they were little. SO adorable and definitely a talking point for the guests!

{Lynn and James, thank you again for having me capture these beautiful memories for you. Congratulations again on your beautiful wedding day and have fun on the honeymoon!!}
