An update on this gorgeous face | Children’s photography, Melbourne

When Donna emailed me a few months ago saying they would be in Melbourne over Christmas and wanted me to meet up with them again to get some updated photos of Darcy, I was absolutely thrilled. This little man was such a joy to photograph the first time around and I had such a lovely morning with his family last time that I just couldn’t wait to see him again and how much he’d grown.

And boy has he grown! Now over a year old, and such a little man – we had such a great afternoon playing around in the park. I adore this little man – such a gorgeous flirt, loved chasing all of the dogs around the park and loved exploring. LOVE him!

{Such a treat Donna! Was so wonderful to catch up with you guys again and give some more cuddles to Darcy. Any time you’re next in Melbourne again, let me know!}

When things just click | Newborn photographer, Melbourne

There are some families who come into my life during sessions who I wish I could photograph every day and watch their family grow. Well, ok I lie – I feel that way about most of my families I meet, but I was so pumped for this newborn session after having an amazing maternity session with Kasia and James not long ago.

One week old baby Ava was a dream – she did everything we hoped and we had a wonderful session with her. Gorgeously sleepy and curly, she was just as beautiful as her name.

James was also fantastic and stepped up to his role of dad/model very easily too after Kasia mammoth effort last time (and appeared to be having such a great time in the process which makes my job so much easier!)

{So so happy to spend another morning with you guys – hope you had fun again and like last time, can’t wait to get proofing with these. Hope you had a lovely Christmas with your mum and give my love to the pups}

And on the same day… | Melbourne Pregnancy Photography

…I also had gorgeous Claire’s maternity session. I will also be doing her newborn photos next month so stay tuned for those as well, can’t wait!

Claire chose to to have her maternity images taken at home because she told me she had gorgeous light in her back garden in the evenings. She wasn’t wrong. We were absolutely blessed with the most gorgeous weather as well which made it all the more special. You could just feel the anticipation with these two – itching, bursting, waiting to become new parents. Loved spending the afternoon with them!

More of that yummy anticipation… (bags packed and waiting, cot empty and waiting…)

{I had so much fun with both of you guys! Cannot wait to see you both again when your little cherub arrives – will be in touch with your gallery as soon as I can!}

More catching up! | Melbourne Newborn Photography

I didn’t know if I was going to get to photograph this little one or not – she certainly teased her mum enough in the lead up to her birth, but we managed to squeeze her in at the last minute. This gorgeous little thing had a lovely sleep for a brief period to begin with, but after that, all bets were off! It’s amazing the difference catching them a little later can make – this little one was so alert and aware, I think she’ll be a very quick learner!!

Things I love about newborns? Watching them sleep…

… their tiny little fingers, including all of the beautiful little peely skin they get as they introduce their body into the new world…

… milk blisters…. adore them. In fact, I adore anything that happens with a newborn that never happens again, particular lanugo (yep, bring on that baby fuzz!!)

Just a quick reminder to all of my newborn mums yet to have their session (I know I stress this alot!), PLEASE contact me as soon as your baby is born! Capturing your little one as close to one week old as we can is so vital, so don’t be shy – I want to hear your news ASAP so that I can come over and drown in all of that gorgeous newborn deliciousness!

{Thank you Nadia for having me do this for you – what a pleasure it was to meet her and freeze these small and tiny moments in art on your behalf}.

Is it Monday? | Baby Photographer Melbourne

It feels like the weekend today. This always happens after a series of public holidays – you get back to Monday and think ‘Monday? Is it really Monday? Just doesn’t feel like a Monday….’

That being said, it was still a work day nonetheless. Lots of proofing, trying to catch up with blogging after my disaster of a week the other week which put me very, very far behind.

I photographed this adorable family a couple of weeks ago. I love watching proud parents – and I especially love when those proud parents bond with their kids and I’m able to witness it. It’s truly beautiful. This little chicken reminded me so much of my little Mia in her personality. Quite shy and reserved for me, but when mum or dad came near the smiles came out – ADORABLE!

{Cam and Tracy, Abigail was gorgeous and holds a very dear place in my heart. Thank you for sharing the morning with me – will be in touch with your proofs over the coming week or so}.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Just a quick note to wish everyone a very, very Merry Christmas today.

I hope that you spent the day happy, full (of food and love) and content. Wishing you all of the joy this holiday season brings.

Thank you to each and every single client I have met with this year – you have brought more joy into my life than I can describe. Thank you for being who you are.

Believe in what is beautiful, think with your heart and run with your dreams.

xx

Warning: Cute baby alert | Melbourne baby photographer

Ok, so I know I say a lot that I think I photograph some of the best looking kids in Melbourne, and this little man most certainly proves my point. I have been hanging out to post some sneak peeks for his mum because honestly, this guy ROCKED his session and I adored every second I spent with him!

And, I mean seriously…. SERIOUSLY! Are kids allowed to be THIS cute???

Apart from newborns, the next stage I most adore photographing is this stage – the stage where babies are sitting, but not yet crawling away! It is SO divine and produces some of the most lovely images. Actually I may leave that for another blog post as I always get asked when the ‘best’ time for photos is – the problem being, there are lots of ‘bests’!

{Kris – these photos make me smile from ear to ear as I look over his session. He was an absolute dream boat and I am so happy to have photographed him for you! Have a lovely Christmas and I will be in touch when you gallery is finished!}

The first of many… | Melbourne baby photography

… sneak peeks that I have yet to post about thanks to my internet downtime!

This gorgeous little man melted my heart. He has the most darling blue eyes and the most adorable smile. The day we had this session it was absolutely pouring with rain – pouring! I was suprised we had any light to work with at all, but we got there in the end after finding a gorgeous little pocket in the master bedroom.

Thankfully the weather didn’t dampen his spirits at all (no pun intended!) and we had a lovely little play that afternoon!

{Sara – it was a pleasure spending a wet and soggy afternoon with you and the gorgeous Maximus. Sorry for the delay in getting these up, but I will be in touch soon with the rest!}

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, first, let me sincerely apologise to every single one of you who couldn’t access my website, blog, email, gallery mages etc. There was a complete disaster with my hosting server, and although it’s all very technical, I’ve been told that it’s one of the worst things that can happen when something crashes. I could not access anything online for the business, including email, so if you tried to contact me in the past week, please send your email again or give me a call as I otherwise would not have received it.

THANKFULLY however, everything should be back up in one piece now and there should be no further issues. My email is back online so you shouldn’t get any further messages bouncing back, nor should you be ‘forbidden’ to access my site.

Phew…. perfect timing too!

As such, I am so far behind with blogging and sneak peeks, I don’t think I will ever catch up! However, I will try and post some of my favourites in the coming days so you do know I wasn’t away holidaying in sunny North Queensland or anything like that! I have been busy, I promise!

Who needs Maybelline? | Melbourne newborn photography

The first thing I noticed about this gorgeous new soul was her massive, black and curly eyelashes. They were literally mind-blowing. Of course, that’s the first thing I said to her parents who responded with ‘Yeah they are!’ in the same way parents always do when the obvious is stated, poor things!! She will grow up with the most amazing eyes alive, I swear – who needs Maybelline when you are BORN with it?

I have so, so, so many favourites from this session that if it wasn’t for me leaving for Sydney tomorrow I would have probably proofed them all on the spot but I have managed to curb my enthusiasm to just a couple of sneak peeks for now.

{Angie… what can I say??? Thank you for choosing me to do this for you! I am so lucky to have been able to photograph such a beautiful soul (who was also so cooperative it made my day!) and I can’t wait to show you the rest when they’re done. I  look forward to being able to photograph her as she grows!}

Sydney next week

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I will be out of action for most of next week as I will be in Sydney at an amazing workshop experience with Jesh de Rox (you simply must go and visit – it’s not a website, it’s an experience…). I am not sure if I will have internet access at my hotel, but I will certainly be contactable by phone if you need to get a hold of me.

Fate has guided my feet, my heart will follow without question and I am nothing short of inspired by what is to come from it…

Good things come in threes | Melbourne Children’s Photographer

These images pretty much sum up this bunch- big brother James. He was my shining star, and loved looking after his two little sisters and helping me out. He has a gorgeous heart and it was so lovely to see him interact with his family!

Next there was little miss Amelia – the first of the twins. She was definitely the boss and was Miss Independent from the word go! I adored her spunky personality – she’ll be the one getting her sister into trouble later that’s for sure!

Last but not least is gorgeous Alannah who loved nothing more to be a parrot all day – whether it be to copy whatever we said to her, or to copy whatever her sister was doing. So funny to watch them. I definitely had a ball with this lot!

{Wow, will you look at that Snez! They’re all looking at me!!! And the better news is… I have some more too (of course). Hope these satisfy for now and I will be in touch soon with the rest of your gallery}

Little miracle | Pregnancy photography, Melbourne

I had SO much fun at this session…. honestly. I was laughing so hard that I had to keep telling these guys off so they didn’t end up with blurry images! Loved their session, loved them!

Keep your eyes peeled for the newborn images – coming…. soon!

We actually ended up incorporating her gorgeous Luci Dibella (drool) wedding veil (double drool) which was such a beautiful touch for her session. Things like this make it so much more personal and special and I adore it!

{Kasia, you rock. Had a wonderful morning with you – I wish you all of the very best with the lead up to your labour – may it be quick, painless and that baby shoots right out of you! Can’t wait to hear from you after the birth!!}

Back for more… | Baby Photographer, Melbourne

I was so lucky to be able to photograph little Thomas when he was only 2 weeks old, and this weekend I was lucky enough to see him again!

He was such a clever little chicken sitting up so nicely for me, and I think I detected some early crawling signs (sorry Naomi, he might be an early one there so the child-proofing should perhaps come sooner rather than later!! haha). As is usually the way when kids are this age, it was daddy who managed to get all of the big grins and laughs!

And just when we thought the session might be over, little Thomas decided to proove us wrong getting his second wind and produced some of my favourite shots from our session!

{It was an absolute pleasure catching up with you all again Naomi!! He is just getting more gorgeous as time goes on and I can’t wait to watch him grow!!}
