Princess Annabel | Baby Photography Melbourne

Gorgeous, darling little Annabel – sweet as pie and I could just eat her up! She’s turning one very shortly and was so fortunate to be able to photograph some memories for her parents before this grand milestone.

Ok, sing it with me now….. CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!!!

*cluck cluck cluck*

I love baby photography!

{Susan – what can I say? Your daughter melts my heart! Have fun at the party and I hope she sleeps well for you, the cheeky rascal! Dank u voor de mooie dag!!}

Miss Independent | Children’s Photographer, Melbourne

I got to play with another Grace on the weekend!! This almost 3 year old was an absolute hoot – definitely a girl that knows what she wants and what she doesn’t want (watch out mum and dad) and had me in stitches half the time.

This sweet little thing told me in no uncertain terms that she did not want to have her photo taken and no amount of distratcting was going to change her mind in the beginning – as soon as that camera went into my hands she was off! Once we got the games going, the guard came down and the fun started and she soon forgot about the camera and lucky for me too because her session turned out to be one of my all-time favourites.

I adored her…

{Thank you for a great morning Renee, and Grace is welcome to come home with me anytime she asks!!}

Sweet baby Olivia | Newborn Photographer, Melbourne

A little taste of newborn goodness from last week – sweet little baby Olivia with her gorgeously beautiful pouty lips and all…

This little one has the most wonderful little eyelashes which feather and curl up a the sides – I adore them!

I love her little fingers in this one! And the tiny little mllia on her nose – classic newborn!

Ahhh… sweet, sweet baby girl!!

{Sara – thank you for having me photograph your cherub for you in her first few days in this brand new world. It is always an honour and this session was no exception! Enjoy!!}

Double trouble!! | Melbourne Baby Photography

Earlier in the year I photographed my first set of twins – you may remember them from this post.

And on Sunday… I got to photograph them AGAIN!! Yipppeeeee! Oh my how they have grown (but still had the cheeky little glints in their eyes that they had the last time I saw them). These two make me laugh so much (and their parents worked themselves stupid Sunday as well – well done you two!!)

I seriously cannot believe how much time has passed since I first took their baby photos – and here they are sitting up and almost crawling around!! I love these milestones and I LOVE watching my little clients grow up and learn new things – it is so rewarding and I feel SO lucky!!

{It was such a pleasure to see you again Michelle – I had an absolute ball with those kidos just like I did last time. I can only imagine the fun we’re going to have when they turn one… I’m getting excited again already!! Love to you all!}

Some sneak peeks for Cooper!

First up – sorrrrrrrrry!! So far behind with my blog updating… slap slap!! Naughty Kristen!

I had a yummy weekend just gone! I played with some gorgeous kidlets – Saturday was this little dude. Gorgeous, happy little Cooper – very easy going, didn’t mind the camera (or me, thank goodness!) and thought I was pretty funny. See, I knew there was a reason I have the sense of humour I do… if the adults won’t laugh with me, the kids sure will!!!!

{Karen, thanks for having me around on Saturday to take these for you!! I hope he slept well for you and that you enjoyed the rest of your afternoon! I will be in touch!}

Four seasons in one day

…. or 12 as was the case with Grace’s facial expressions today. We had tears, we had giggles, we had silly faces, we had smiles, we had wonder, we had mediocrity, and we had ‘that’s it… I’m completely over it now’ (see the second last photo in the sneak peeks below!!)

I ADORE this girl – and it was such a treat photographing her at one as I also had the pleasure of taking some photos of her when she was teeny, tiny and new before I’d started my business!! What a thrill!

Her mum and I always joke about how much my Little Miss Mia and little Grace look alike and could be sisters – both have the most amazing deep dark, almost black eyes that I adore, both have the same brown hair, cute button noses and beautiful almond shaped eyes. At one point I was even showing a photo I had taken during the session to her mum and which point she told me she thought it was Mia, not Grace… HAHAAA!! Love it – we can’t even tell our own daughters apart sometimes.

So – here she is in all of her glory in honour of Grace’s birthday:

{Fun, fun fun Ness – I can’t tell you how much I am laughing over her proofs, seriously. She is a little show pony for the camera and I love every single bit of her. Remind me never to bring my rug back to your place and to always keep a nappy on her!}

My how they grow…

You may remember darling baby Fin from his newborn session 6 months ago here

Well, look at him now!!

Seriously – you people need to stop creating such good looking kids… you’re all killing me…. KILLING ME!!!!!

Lucky Fin has moved into a brand new home and I was lucky enough to get the grand tour today – so gorgeous. And even better, he’s tossed mum and dad out of the master bedroom on the ground floor and kept it to himself.  Good going Fin – let’s keep it that way! xx

{Thanks for the gorgeous morning Kaz!! In return, I have left you with a half-drunken cup of tea, muffin smeared all over your furtniture and crumbs in places you won’t even think of… shall we do it again soon?!}

Afterglow

You know when you’ve been waiting something for ages, and it takes forever to come but is over in the blink of an eye? That’s how I feel right about now…

I spent the most amazing weekend in Bungendore with Barb Uil of Jinky Art and 14 other photographers from across Australia. It was just what I needed – I feel so inspired, pumped and ready for the next phase of my business and I can’t wait to get everything moving… 2009 now can’t come fast enough!

I will write a little more about the workshop in coming posts when I can also post some images from the weekend, but for now I wanted to post a sneak peek for my gorgeous patient clients from last week who have yet to see any!

Loved, loved, loved this family

{A quick shout out to Ros – hope you had a gorgeous weekend, and enjoy these sneaky peeks from last week!}

Out of action for the weekend

Just a quick note to let everyone know that from Friday (tomorrow) through to Sunday I will be unavailable to contact as I will be in…

I will be back on Monday and will be able to respond to your emails and phone messages at that time.

And just because I love this comic strip so much, here’s another instalment of What the Duck!

Hahahahaaaaaaaa!!!! Cracks me up every time…

2008 – now fully booked out

Yep, that’s all folks – all sessions for 2008 have now been fully booked. If you would like to be placed on my wait list in the event of cancellations, please drop me an email.

I will be opening up my calendar for early 2009 hopefully in the next few weeks so if you would like to be notified of the new dates when they become available so you don’t miss you,  please send me an email so that you can be the first to know! :)

My poppet

I just realised it’s been so long since I posted some photos of my little Miss Mia (FAR too long) so I thought I would update the blog today with some photographs from the weekend. We had a gorgeous family day on Sunday and spent the afternoon in the sun at Werribee Park – one of my all-time favourite locations in Melbourne (and not just because I was married there!)

Sooooo here are some from Sunday of my precious poppet!

I spent about 5 minutes trying to get this photo out of her and eventually gave up – she was far more interested in the bird walking along beside her than looking up at me… go figure…the true definition of ‘watch the birdie’!

And yes… on of those rare moments where I caught her SMILING on camera!! Wonders never cease!

And finally a couple just to show you what a ham she can be…!!

So a big fishy face shout out to everyone on this Tuesday – have a good one!! xx

Another weekend over

Saturday I must admit was the exact reverse of Friday – weather was a bit off in the morning, but by the afternoon…. WONDERFUL! I love days like that! Sunday was also fanastic – the weather was so kind to Melburnians this weekend!

Had a glorious session this weekend with this lovely family – they were all adorable, and we spent a lovely afternoon in the Botanical Gardens. In fact, it’s where these lovely parents were married so it made it all the more special to return to the gardens for some family portraits as well!! I love it when locations like this hold a special place in my client’s hearts!!!!

It was so obvious that these two girls were daddy’s girls… anywhere daddy went, they would follow.

Aren’t they all so CUUUTE??

{Those kids of yours are a riot Peggy, I adore them. What a fun afternoon – I think we were right to finish when we did; the kids are the ones in control!! hahaha!!}

Talk about lucky

We were definitely testing our luck with the weather today. Forecast was for a fine morning, with showers and cloud in the afternoon. They weren’t wrong. Just after midday, around 12:20 in fact, the clouds rolled in and the rain began to fall. Lucky for me, my kids at today’s session had just about enough of having a camera in their face and were completely over the session, so the timing couldn’t have been more perfect!

Darling little Jonah has the most wonderful soulful eyes. Poor little cherub was so tired though – these were just about the only smiles we got from him today! Still, he was wide awake whenever there were birds around – he was so fascinated by them!! Cuuuuute!

Big sister Isabel was darling. Typical 2.5 year old in that reverse psychology was the only trick that worked with her. This is her “not” smiling for the camera… go on, tell me you don’t want to smile looking at her?? Go on!!!!

These two photos show what happens when children are so close they could jump inside the camera… haha!!!!

And check out those lips on her in the photo below… she’s gone to give Angelina Jolie a run for her money one day!! Ahhh this photo of her makes my heart sing – I just want to cuddle her all over again!

{They were champions today Shelley, I adored them. Any time you want to go fairy hunting, bird watching or bubble blowing again, give me a call… :) }

Meet Baby M!

I always love sessions where I have had the pleasure of doing some pregnancy photography for mum, and also being asked to come back for some newborn photos as well.

Here she was then (nice and cosy in mum’s tummy!!)

… and here she is now!

How lucky was I to get this eye contact at only one week old?! This never happens!! I must have been super quick that day…!

{Welcome to the world baby Mikayla! It is a pleasure to finally meet you! Nic, congratulations on your princess!}

Busy little bee

It’s been a busy week, and my head is a bit all over the place – I’ve been very slack with blogging but hope to rectify that very shortly as I have a newborn photography session from a few days ago that I want to share with you very soon.

It’s been a funny week, but there are some facts that I have come to learn:

  1. Some people, no matter how old they are, continue to act like children (and I, safe to say, am one of them!!)
  2. Toast will always fall butter side down when thrown from a highchair
  3. When you’re a photographer, your own child will eventually learn to refuse to look at you whenever there is a camera nearby
  4. There are some people who are just plain mean for the fun of it, and I don’t know why
  5. Houses do not clean themselves no matter how hard I sing “A spoonful of sugar” like Mary Poppins
