Brothers in arms

Adam and Jake were my victims today at this family photography session… and lucky me I got to continue my deep dark eye obsession with these two little cheeky monsters. I am also falling in love with photos where kids are pulling stupid faces… don’t ask me why as the parents probably hate them (well, they’re not ‘grandma present’ material, but they’re good fun!) so I’ve thrown in one for good measure for today’s preview too ;)

Even with an ear infection little Jake was so well behaved, and despite waking up at the crack of dawn this morning, Adam was a bundle of energy! I learned all about Shrek, trains and planes today courtesy of Adam – better save that in the info vault just in case I’m quizzed on it next time!

{Marina, you’d better watch these two… they’ll be breaking hearts before you know it!}

I wish…

I wish parents would allow me to wrap up their kids and take them home with me sometimes… Ok, kidding, but seriously – when you get such a high dosage of cute-factor, how can you not resist? :) First, there was little Jai – gorgeous big bubba baby blues I could just dive right in to. So well behaved for the whole time I was there; he was quite happy to just sit and play with the things that were around him most of the time!

Then there was Acacia, his big sister. She’s turning 3 soon, and she’s such a clever little thing already! It still amazes me how quickly kids can pick things up. You would never tell from these photos, but she didn’t think much of me when I arrived – her pasta lunch was far more interesting (hell, I don’t blame her either… !) But once she warmed up, those snap happy moments were coming thick and fast. It’s going to be so much fun proofing this session with so many gorgeous shots to choose from!

Kids photography is so much fun! Maybe I’m biased but I think Melbourne has the cutest kids… ;)

What the duck

I can’t take credit for this as I saw this elsewhere, but I’ve only just finished laughing long enough to show you!! Can’t stop the giggles…

(What’s the saying? “Small things amuse…”? Well, you know the rest…)

Twice the fun

I had three photoshoots over this weekend just gone- two I have already shared, but this one I was lucky enough to spend some time with not one, but two kidlets.

Darling Miss Abby was the most precious thing. A gorgeous sweetheart shaped face with glorious eyes and a tiny little mouth – melts your heart! She had giggles and smiles for me all morning which was lovely and didn’t mind nuding up for parts of her photoshoot!

Zac was also adorable – there were very few opportunities to catch him looking at the camera as he was far too engrossed in playing with his toys (and hey, if I were him… I’d do the same! Who wants a camera in their face all morning?!) but we managed to get a couple of sneaky ones, and even some later on in the day when he finally warmed up to the camera being there!

Of course, that’s what I adore about lifestyle photography – you capture what you can get! I make it no secret that my favourite shots are usually those where the kids are having fun, playing, laughing – it’s what makes the shots memorable and shows the kids as they truly are, not just what they look like!

{Thanks for having me over Rebecca – your kids are adorable, and I hope they had as much fun as I did}

 Congratulations to Shelley!

You have won yourself a free photography session at your home valued at $75. I will be in contact with you shortly to arrange further details :)

 Thank you to everyone who decided entered the competition. It was so fantastic to receive your emails and messages of support after the new website launched. I was truly overwhelmed with the number of people who responded to me.

My Little Miss Mia acted as the official barrel girl and adjudicator of the competition draw (see below), but I think she had more fun playing with the bowl and eating the strips of paper with everyone’s names on them than behaving herself!
