Youth is so infectious

Today I had the pleasure of photographing not one, but two lovely kidos. They were an absolute blast to be around!

Miss C thought I was special enough to hug me all morning (awww, do I have the best job or what?!) while I bribed her by showing her the happy snaps on the LCD screen on the back of my camera as we went. Of course, any supermodel wants to make sure she’s getting good photos! And if I wasn’t lucky enough to be amongst all of those luscious curls earlier this week (see Too Stinkin’ Cute) I got another dose of it today!! Hooray!

Master L was beautifully behaved as well – and being just under two months he was doing so well with his head control and tummy time as you can see from the pics below.

Downunder Darling

She was a quick one, this one… I don’t think my camera could keep up with her energy half the time (alright, *I* couldn’t keep up with her half the time!)

This is the beautiful Amy, daughter of my friend Tania who runs Darlings Downunder – and what a gorgeous little poppet she is too. In the stinking heat of Melbourne weather today (40 degrees plus – FUN!) I was lucky enough to be cocooned in the air conditioned comfort for most of the shoot while Tania played babysitter to Mia. How little Miss Amy could keep running and jumping, literally all morning, and barely stop for breath, well, it’s a credit to her mummy for being able to keep up with her! All the things I get to look forward to soon…

NOTE TO SELF: … arrange more 2.5 year old photoshoots and never have to pay for gym membership ever again.

Too stinkin’ cute

It should honestly be illegal to be this cute. That, or she should come with a license… a license to grin.

Today was just one of those wow days – you know, the kind of days where everything in the checklist gets ticked off?

  • Gorgeous model – check
  • Cooperative model - check
  • Beautiful home – check
  • To die for light – check

I absolutely could not wait to get home afterwards and start proofing and looking through the session again had me in absolute stitches as I remembered back to all of the quirky little things she did all day. I could have snapped photos of her all day long – what an absolute treasure to be around!

“Hipp-op-ot-amus”

Another day, another play!

I got this green hippo top for Mia before she was born (not knowing whether she would be a boy or girl) and thought at the time it was pretty neutral. Every time I put her in it though, she looks so much like a boy! I think it’s time to bring out the hair clips again…

Another new trick she’s learned: tilting her head to one side when I move the camera…see? She’s a classic poser in the making and she doesn’t even know it yet. Gee I’m good training her so young ;)

Williamstown

We had a ‘break’ in the scorching weather today (before it rises again tomorrow… fun) so we took a short trip to Williamstown – primarily just to scout for potential locations for me, but it was a lovely afternoon.

Why is it that when I’m trying to actively search for locations I can never find any that take my fancy, but if I’m not looking or don’t have any models (or I’m “cameraless” – GASP!), I see them everywhere?!

My aim today was to get some practise with backlighting in which… ahem… is certainly not my strong point. I’m sure I can catch a proper sun flare if I tried harder (maybe)! Mine ended up mostly resulting in glowing heads and blown skies (nice…) but it was fun all the same.
