Help me… mum’s playing dress-ups again!

C’mon say it with me…

 ”Awwwwwww!!!”

Mia was given her very first tutu by my sister Emily for Christmas and today was the first day I popped her in it just to see if it fit her yet… unlucky for her, it did! And naturally I couldn’t let the moment go by without keeping photographic proof to mark the occasion.

It also gave me a chance to have another vintage processing and texture play as well – so here are some to show:

Four days to go!

There are only four more days left of January, which means only four more days to make a booking and receive your $25 in print credit! So please hurry so that you don’t miss out :)

It also means there are only four more days to enter the competition to win a free session valued at $75 too – another reminder that if you haven’t sent me an email asking to be put into the draw, please make sure you do ASAP.

The winner will be announced on my blog and contacted in Feb – so don’t miss out!

Clever little chicken

Little Jasmine was my shining star today.

At just under 10 months old, she was such a clever little munchkin – pointing out objects to her mum and dad when asked about them, babbling away and even shape sorting! I tell you, this kid is a star in the making (and I suppose it also helps having a speech pathologist as a mum… Elise, you’ve done an outstanding job raising her!)

I was so excited to get a good look at her eyes when I arrived this morning too as they are as dark as Mia’s – gorgeous reflective pools of light. She’s also definitely a thinker, little Jas; we had a good warm up session to get going but those intense stares melted my heart!

{Hope you enjoy the sneak peeks from today’s session Elise – thank you so much again for having me over!}

Happy Australia Day

australia_day.jpg

 Ok, so the muffins are English…  close enough ;)

“Charly, Charly, Charly Mia…”

{Yes Melissa, I cannot get that little ditty out of my head!!! I even sang it in the car to myself the whole way home. Shame on you…!}

Today was a pleasure. I was fortunate enough to spend some time with little Charly (Mia – her middle name, perfect!) and her mum and dad. Depsite the pretty hot Melbourne weather we tried to stay cool indoors (good idea!) even though at one point I subjected poor Charly to a hoodie for some happy snaps.

What can I say… gorgeous house, gorgeous family and gorgeous girl!

Her favourite trick of the day was to run her tongue from side to side along her lips (CUTE!) and loved her kisses with mum. With her massive baby blues and those dark, dark eyelashes I think dad may have to start locking those doors sooner than anticipated…!

Some sneak peeks:-

Eyelashes

I adore Mia’s eyelashes.

The are long, dark and luscious. As the shape of her eyelids means they droop down at the sides, they provide a natural eyelash curler for the outside lashes giving them a bit of a kink… adorable.

She gets a great pout to her too when she’s concentrating on something – her bottom lip is priceless.

I’m so in love!

This is what happens…

to a face when your eight month old daughter refuses to go to sleep and would rather chuck a massive tanty instead – charming…

{Got to love that red, blotchy face, puffy eyes and then topped off with crusty nose…eww}

Apologies for the slack effort in updating the blog too. I’ve been really busy with proofing lately so I haven’t had a chance to take some happy snaps of my own, but hope to improve this situation when things calm down a bit ;)

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

January Booking Special

You may have seen on my website that I’m having a special offering a $25 print credit for anyone who books a session before the end of the month…. and then today I looked at my calendar and realised we’re already halfway through it!!

If you’re thinking of booking a session, please give me a call ASAP – not only so you can grab some free prints, but also because currently I’m now booked until the 9th of March and I’d hate for you to have to wait too long for your session, so please book in early!!

I may also be opening up so more dates between now and then (a few Friday sessions), so please contact me if you’re interested in grabbing them.

Also – don’t forget to enter the competition to win a free session! Even if you’ve had or are having a session with me, please send me a separate email with your details so I can enter you in the draw! Best of luck to everyone :)

Texture play

I have never ventured into the world of textures… that is, until now!

This is a photo from one of my recent sessions. When I had originally uploaded all of the photos from that session to my computer and I was going through them, I had my finger on the delete button, as it wasn’t in focus. It can be caught at one of those ‘off’ moments where I was in between changing settings on my camera and my gorgeous little model wanted to have a change of scenery.

As she began to run around though, she just looked magical! Knowing my settings weren’t perfect at the time, I snapped a few anyway hoping I could salvage some later. I was a bit disappointed when I saw it wasn’t in focus, but for some reason I didn’t delete it. I kept coming back to it again and again.

I knew it needed something to make it useable, so I decided to have a little play with texture (thank you to my texture gurus who assisted in my learning process as well!) and now it’s an image I adore – it absolutely captures the mood from that day. Carefree, spirited youth… always moving on to the next exciting thing.

Hope you enjoy it too!

Cheeky little man

Today is the end to a very busy week… and what a wonderful week it was!

I had the pleasured of meeting little Owen today who was such a little character filled with personality and charm. He was such a little poser too – he almost knew exactly when I was taking a photograph and would lean over and smile for me at just the right time (was he trained well, Deb?!)

Check out the giggles mum got when he was attacked by the tickle monster…. classic! This is why I love lifestyle portraiture!!

{Here’s a quick sneak peek for you Deb, thank you for having me over – I had a blast!}
